Reviews
With L’Heure Espagnole Wagner achieves a witty arrangement, by creating a parallel between partner choice and clockwork mechanics. Charming are the plentiful intelligently thought out scenic details. --- Conor Murphy skilfully imports scenic elements and props into the set of Gianni Schicchi--- Kiril Manolov, in the title role, combines the connection between rustic robustness and nimble intelligence beautifully.
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
The premiere was celebrated by the audience with great enthusiasm. Less surreal than robustly comic Carlos Wagner presented the arrival of the admirers. Here Ravels aesthetic new interpretation of opera buffa becomes evident stage comedy: wit in the actual sense inspired by the music that is full of surprises.
Wiesbadener Kurier
The audience felt well entertained by both pieces and honoured them with generous applause. Each character was perfectly cast and completed the motley crew with visual variety.
Gießener Allgemeine Zeitung
A lively ensemble in which Emma Pearson and Felipe Rojas Velozo stand out, fitted perfectly into the black humoured comedy.
